After my mission, I returned home to Salt Lake City as a 21-year-old and got a summer job working in the garden shop at a local K-Mart in the heart of Moville. I really enjoyed nature in that regard (and, to this day, have a nice backyard garden, complete with a koi pond, bamboo, pine trees, various succulents, blossoming vines, birds and a waterfall).
Anyway, one day I was ringing out customers and dealing with a particularly grumpy one. She had handed me some cash for her purchase and I was meticulously counting out the change to her, making sure it was correct.
Apparently, I was taking too long for her tastes. She scowled at me and said impatiently, "It's only pennies."
I replied, "It's not my money," and went back to giving her the precise amount due.
Maybe she cheated on her tithing, too. :)

(On the brighter side, I sold a pair of garden clippers to Richard P. Condie, then-conductor of the Tabernacle Choir. He was nice).
