After reading this article, I wonder how many TBM's will start to question TSCC's actions, since their statement was based on a law firms supposed analysis. Seems like this guy (Cromar) is dealing with some cognitive dissonance. One more nail in the coffin?

"But now some LDS Church members like Cromar are left with questions for church leaders.

“I would like to know these statements that you're making, are they coming from revelation or are they just pure opposition to legal issues, or where is this coming from? This isn't doctrine so what is it?” Cromar said."

from something Dehlin posted yesterday, there are over 60% of the mormons who are pro things like CBD oil and medical marijuana. Doug Wright had the pro and the con voices. The LDS church has been going after those people who signed the petition about having it legalized, and I know you can get CBD oil in Utah these days.

Per Dehlin's post on fb yesterday, the RS president had e-mailed the women in her ward about a meeting that was going to be held to talk to those who had signed the petition so they could be "educated" on the subject and how to get their name off the petition.

RIDICULOUS. They act as though the members don't have a right to decide for themselves. They are going all out to get this STOPPED.

They said that gay marriage would never be legalized here and it was. This will be legalized, but the lds church will spend a bunch of tithing money and donations from members to get it stopped. It will happen.

I had shingles for a year 2 years ago. I had to be on strong medications for the pain to be able to work. My boyfriend's son was just diagnosed with shingles. Guess where he lives? In Colorado. He doesn't have to take opiates to help with his pain.

It's interesting that the members in other states are accepting but in Utah, you get ostracized.

With so many members in favor of legalization, I suspect it's bound to cause some people to think, well, at least hopefully they will think. lol

Personally, I'm in favor of legalization, since my wife has MS and at some point, this could be helpful for her. But, I live in Idaho, and our uber Republican conservatives are fighting tooth and nail to keep it illegal. I keep hoping the feds will change the classification and avoid all of this.

Political depolarization is the future of TSCC. The older folks don’t see it that way, and tend to fight it, which hurts the religious unity. The younger crowd wants to stay Mormon but are not entrenched in the good old fashioned intolerance. Our generation was raised seeing black people on Sesame Street, and heard our parents and grandparents say “Sam hill, every time you turn on the tv you have to see a black face!”

Just a fundamental disconnect.

I told my TBM 77 yo mom that I have no problem with LDS people, but I have an enormous problem with political and social conservatism. Those two things often overlap, but they also often dont, and I think it helped my relations with her to draw the distinction.

TSCC will flourish as a politically diverse body, supervised by its young patrons.

I tried it for both anxiety and pain control. I never smoked it - it tastes absolutely VILE to me. I recently found some topical cannabis cream (for pain) that I bought back then. It helped a little, but both Tiger Balm and Icy-Hot Lidocaine patches work better for very localized pain.

One of my doctors prescribed some other stuff for the anxiety, which has proven to be a life-saver. Addictive as hell, but my doctors all agree that trying to wean me off it at this stage of life would not be worth the torment. (I have tried to inch my way off it, and it was horrible.)

The edible forms of cannabis were the least objectionable. One of the things I got was like a peppermint patty, very tasty. My daughter advised me to cut it into quarters and eat them over an hour or two.

I was distracted and playing on the computer, and wolfed the whole thing down. I couldn't get out of my chair for quite some time. My daughter laughed until tears ran down her face. She described this as being "couch-locked." That was the end of my cannabis adventure.

They used to call it "the plan of salvation."

Then they consulted a PR firm and now it's "the plan of happiness."

They should be honest and call it "the plan of obedience."

Do you not know?

CBD oil is legal and available (by mail delivery, if not a retailer nearby), in all 50 (1/2) states. It depends only on your state of mind. Keep that in mind.

People find that relief is most noticable taken at a higher (no pun intended {budtended}) ratio of CBD (8%-15+%) to THC (8%-3%) - instead of 20%-85+% THC and 1% or no CBD. Most say that CBD's effectiveness is only possible, or enhanced, or activated, with some level of THC; at least a few percent is most commonly preferred and reportedly effective.

CBD oil can be calming.
Anybody familiar with RSO (Rick Simpson Oil)? Most oils today are modeled on this hemp oil pioneer's. Hemp oil Heals!

Use Hemp Oil and BE CALM

CBD is NOT legal in Utah !!!!!
Medical cannabis is NOT legal in Utah!!!!

Yes, strictly speaking, IF a person is epileptic, AND IF a specialist prescribes it, AND IF a person jumps through a bunch of hoops, then certain exceptions and provisions can be made for cannabis to be administered to THAT person, and a person can then live worrying that some clerical error or administrative error or misunderstanding or other misconstrual might occur that will have SWAT Team Storm troopers descending on their residence to interdict and arrest them.

. .....DOES THAT REALLY SOUND LIKE MEDICAL CANNABIS IS LEGAL IN THE STATE OF UTAH ?????

CBD is NOT legal in Utah. It is Utah anyway, because it is effective and the state has not figured out how they are going to start enforcing first Utah, because they can NOT effectively enforce on cannabis that has THC in it !

CBD oil is indeed legal in Utah. I buy mine from a TBM in Utah County. His bishop, stake president and many ward members buy from him too. It’s legal in all 50 states. Do your homework.

Hemp oil is a grey area of legality but it is available on line. CBD oil is not the same as hemp oil and CBD oil is federally illegal in all 50 states.

to pick the nit: RSO is not hemp oil. It is oil extracted with solvents from top quality drug plant flowers. Much much superior to hemp oil as medicine. Hemp oil is technically pressed hemp seed oil, not particularly medicinal.

My roommate told me it is not legal here in Idaho but they do sell it here in small shops so I don't know if it's true.

What I like about it?
Everybody is gay!

Happy, that way.
And gonna stay!

Why? Why is is so green? It keeps the people green. You've you to have a lot of green to live there too these days. It's not just the gays.

There's water everywhere.
Even in the square.
Smoke everywhere too. Fog.
Smoke On The Water.

Everybody laughing, playing,
Eating, graying, flying, buying.
Trying to live but really dying.

He said one gram THC in the am, one gram CBD in the afternoon (maybe I have it mixed up), and one gram mixed CBD-THC in the evening. Took the guys cancer away. So... it works.

CBD will not get you "high" and has no THC in it. It is not addictive nor a "gateway" drug.

CBD is one of over 60 compounds found in cannabis that belong to a class of ingredients called cannabinoids. Until recently, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) was getting most of the attention because it’s the ingredient in cannabis that produces mind-altering effects in users, but CBD MAY also be present. In areas where medical/rec is legal, it is tested and marked per batch what the CBD and THC content test at. It is also available in many other forms like drops, sprays, and softgels. As with all supplements, it is key to buy from a reliable company. A neighbor of mine was told to try this by their therapist.

PS, I think it is ironic that a state that loves MLM health crap have a problem with this in a non THC form.

I will tell you what is ironic (IRONIC).

A person can bet everything they own ("or will ever own" !!!) and their soul that at least one of the MORmON ASSpostHOLES and/ or their immediate ( temple sealed to them!!!!!) family members has used Hydrocodone for pain relief for one reason or another.

Hydrocodone is a synthesized (man made) opiate, which is essentially Heroine.

WHERE is official LD$ inc outrage and opposition to that reality of abhorrent human weakness and indulgence to make their exalted MORmON elites lives more comfortable through their (lamentable) use of Narcotics in those instances ????

My MIL had terminal brain cancer, (RIP).

I begged her to try Cannabis, since she had nothing to lose that she was not going to lose anyway.

She steadfastly refused because she believed that she would instantly become a third wheel to Cheech and Chong.

I pointed out to her that she would NOT have to take up smoking in order to use Cannabis therapy, and that she would not necessarily smell like a dope smoking hippie.

After all, ingesting some cannabis would be NOTHING compared to some of the radical surgeries that she had been through.

That did not make any difference to her, because using "Marijuana" has been so negatively stigmatized that she could not tolerate being associated with it in anyway.

Even though she was going to die, she could not tolerate the thought that after her demise that any her of her siblings might quip that he had been on "dope" /"marijuana".

How about as Tommy Chong. Its a step beyond reincarnation, but if the goal is ridiculous irony, then that would be it. Of Course, Gordon BS Hinckley would need to come back of Cheech Marin, too.

A neighbor lady recently died of cancer. Her husband would tell me (almost in tears) how she was getting so weak simply because she couldn't eat since the treatment was making her nauseous. She slowly lost weight and withered away. I have no doubt that marijuana would have helped her with both nausea and appetite. But, as it's illegal, she couldn't have it. Sad. Not to worry though, the Mormon church leaders have decided what's best for everyone.

I think the father is using a good argument.

"So, is the church coming out against it, with 'grave concerns' because they are claiming, as prophets, seers, and revelators, that this is against God's will, or are they just listening to their legal eagles"

Marijuana can be seen as an herb, as the definition of what an herb is is not clearly defined. (thinking of WoW)

No, they are associating this with hippies, counterculture, spliffs, toking etc. No matter that such associations are unwarranted, the association already exists in their mind.

And those leaders at the top are incredibly socially Conservative.

My wife used it and THC oil for the last 10 months of her life. The CBD I think allowed her to tolerate the chemo better than had she not used it and the THC helped her sleep. Needless to say we didn't ask our TBM doctor to prescribe it for her although she did ask and he gave a wishy-washy non committal "there are other strategies out that that you should try instead of" answer.

Did CBD oil help your wife with pain? I am on day 4 and am not sure it's doing anything. I think it might be helping a little bit.

In her case she didn't experience a lot of pain. More nausea and diarrhea than anything else. I think the CBD took the edge off that. She was able to pack a lot of activity into last summer. I'm very thankful for that. There was family she said goodbye to even though at the time didn't know it.

My TBM wife swears by CBD and doesn't think anything negative of it. She gives it to her family members and friends. Some are skeptical and think it will make them test positive for Marijuana use (it wont, the stuff she buys and gives out is a topical), others try it and like it. Of course we live in California, so... there is that

I am a 57 year old chronic pain patient, and am SO sick of the opioids that I have been on for almost 20 years.

I definitely still take them, but after introducing vaping, concentrates, and CBD oil to my program, I think about the pills to a lesser degree.

Of course, I have smoked weed for 40 years and have no intention of stopping. I actually did stop for a few short years when I first went into pain management treatment, but the hell with that.

I live in a state where over prescribing millions and millions of pills is legal, but no type of weed is. SO ridiculous.

Oh well, anything I want in the way of "herb" is always just a phone call away. Thank goodness! :-)
