INVISIBLE HEROES
Survivors of Trauma And How They Heal

by Belleruth Naparsteck

Naparsteck's main focus seems to be that "talk therapy" doesn't get at the root of post trauma, and can even make it worse. In this book, she teaches guided imagery, and claims to have huge success with it.

I think this could help you.
Good luck, our Adam!

These "dark moments" do pass.

My mother and my doctor uncle used to tell me, "Things always look better in the morning." I would sneer at them, but they were right!

We've all known despair. Abraham Lincoln, considered one of the greatest men to have ever lived, had bouts of depression, and he called it "The Black Dog."

Life is valuable. That's why we care.

You care more than you think you do! Why else would you put up such a valiant fight to get well. Surgeries are scary! You are brave, and you don't even know it.

Mormonism is good at instilling self-loathing, under the guise of humility, and obedience, and honoring your father and your mother, and trusting those in (fake) authority over you, giving your money to something more important than you. Mormonism teaches us that even God will not love us, unless we obey the cult. The cult even takes away Heaven from us, pretending it will be just a repeat of Mormon judgments, Mormon hierarchy, and Mormon polygamy.

In my mind, I often refer to Mormonism as "The Cult of Despair."

You ARE climbing out of the pit. I can see your improvement in your posts. In the light of morning, if you are honest, you can see improvement in your self. Stick it to 'em! Don't let the cult win!

It is a pit and surgeries are scary. I never know what the next month will bring. Everything is scary about this because i am challenging their entire cult and their god in my mind to try and get a real life somehow.
