I don't actually "follow" many people (two, in total) on Twitter. I just drop in now and then and poke around.

I think it's an amazing place (if "place" is the right word for something that's nowhere and everywhere). An almost completely uncensored free exchange of ideas. A great look into the actual personalities of posters (for good or bad). Raw emotion. Reasoned argument right along with idiotic fallacy and stupidity.

An unfiltered look at the best and worst humanity has to offer.

I have one social media account...and it's not twitter.

I know people who are on all listed below:
FB
Twitter
Instagram
SnapChat
WhatsApp.

They spend there whole life (it seems anyway..) updating stuff about themselves, instead of just living

Yes, indeed. And it's sad.

I do have a Twitter account. I've posted exactly twice in over 3 years of having it. Despite making no effort whatsoever to post or gather followers, my account has 22 followers. They must be really bored, since I never actually post anything...! Sometimes I think I should post something, just to give them the feeling that following me was worth it. Then I get over it :)

I'm not on twitter....don't know why I'd want to be.

I do my tweeting here. Waste too much time as it is just on Facebook and e-mail. It's like drugs so while I'm trying to be in control of the ones I'm already addicted to, I think I'll "just say No" to Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and whatever all the new things are.

My worry is that it's easy for us Baby Boomers to let the others go. It's an add-on to our world, not the center of our universe. But I worry for my granddaughters who are growing up with social media being the In place to be. Communication is hard enough and I wonder if they'll even be able to have an electronic-free space to retreat to.

Lololol, saucie! I thought it was just me! At one point I figured I would check out Twitter to see if it was all that, then tried to sign up, only to find I had signed up before. Ok, guess I'm not all that interested so...sc-reeeeeew that! (I did that with other things, too. ) I just sort of come here, email, and look things up. Yes, I am the poster child for technology challenged. :^)

Eff Twitter, they suspended 3-4 accounts I made for stupid reasons (thought I was spam) and I couldn't reactivate them, so the heck with them

Twitter tries to do social engineering by silencing voices that are not in favor of globalism.
Not all that different from what is happening on this board at times.

I love when someone I don't really appreciate gets his/her ox gored, but I HATE it when my ox is gored!!

What's up with that, anyway?

My side won the election. Why should anyone ever be allowed to express views that differ from mine?

My side didn't win the election, Lot's Wife, but I feel exactly as you do about others who have the audacity to express opinions differing from mine. The NERVE of SOME people . . .

Both sides lost the election. And we continue to lose.

scmd1, my side did not win the election.

I was somewhat facetiously characterizing the views of an earlier poster who has an inconsistent view of oxen and goring.

Do you know what's so annoying about having articulate friends?

When they misspell a word, you have to look it up to make sure it is indeed a mistake. And even after consulting dictionaries, you're still not entirely sure.

She means "cosmopolitanism," as in:

"I can honestly say: I am shocked at your statement. . . It reveals your cosmopolitan bias to a shocking degree — this is an amazing moment."

I went on Fakebook, because a friend on the other coast wanted me to see all her family photos, and photos of her and her husband's couples mission.

I had signed up years ago, when I was still a Mormon, and after a few weeks of finding out how Mormon-dominated fake it all was, and how depressing it could be, I cancelled my account.

Little did I know that Fakebook is like the Mormon cult. You can never leave. My account had not been cancelled, eliminated, or erased, like I had requested. When I logged back in, there were angry posts! People were upset that I had never replied to them! I had not responded to any "friend" requests! How could I have? I was not there!

I finally was able to contact a life person, supposedly with a little control over Fakebook, and he said that no one ever wanted to leave, and I was crazy to want to leave--but--just to be especially kind to me, he assured me that my registration would be erased AFTER ONE YEAR.

I'm afraid to go back onto Fakebook to see if I've been erased, because logging on will automatically REINSTATE MY ACCOUNT. So, there is this bizarro netherworld, where I might or might not be snubbing people and making them angry at me. Or maybe I no longer exist in that world....

Using a computer from which you've never logged into facebook, go to facebook. Without logging in. Search for your name. See if an active account comes up (it's likely it will).

Yeah, they make it really hard to actually disappear from facebook. But it's worth it to find out if you're still "there" or not :)

Like a forest, especially at Christmas, you always pick out your own trees.

Make your own monster. Mimick others. Gain followings (with or without proofing or prophecy) - and follow others - for no reason.

Waste time. Make/ lose money/ time. Forge ahead. Carve your notch. Invent a niche. Bond. Criticize. Compliment. Freak!

Do what you want
Like in real life

I have three accounts: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

The only one I use is FB and that is minimal. TBH, I would not even remember how to log into the other two. It's been so long and I'm just not interested.

The only reason I ever got on Twitter was to follow the crazy shit show that is the Trump Reality TV show.
