Hard to believe 17 years have come and gone since that fateful day. I worked within close range of the twin towers for nearly a decade. Was at work in 1993 when the first attack occurred. It was only a dress rehearsal for what followed.

The years fly by so quickly. While airports have become somewhat safer, the innocence of a nation was lost on that day.

I’m there, in spirit, with you! I always thank the TSA for keeping me safe. And, I’d like to thank Canadian security for their special welcome last year in Ottawa! Man, did I feel special! Seriously,here’s to everyday people doing their jobs to keep us safe.

I think everyone has PTSD from that day whether they admit it or not.

My family still teases me about 9/11.

All Federal workers were released to go home, since nobody knew where the evil "they" might strike next. Since I had just been grocery shopping a few days before, I knew that we were well-provisioned in case of a transit or rail strike.

I bought gallons and gallons of bottled water, and TONS of dry cat food and litter. Had to keep those kitties safe. . .
