My daughter has been waiting for a missionary. But there is evidence that she's been doing some research. Last night, in an email, she asked me if when I used to go to the temple, pre-1990, I would pantomime disembowelment and throat slitting.

I told her that, yes, I did that many times.

I'll see her this weekend. I hope we have a good discussion. I'm not sure yet where this will lead but I'm hopeful for her. If her questioning takes her in the same direction it took me, it will be much better for her in the long run, but could be quite difficult in the short term.

Good luck with your daughter - that's good news. Also, many Mormons would tell her that the throat-slitting stuff never happened. It's great that you have such a good relationship with her that she'd believe you above anyone else. Hope things go well with her this weekend.
