You can never mean exactly what you say.

This is a long time favorite quote of mine from the TV series Babylon 5.

The church is full of examples, particularly when trying to justify errors in history or book of mormon.

Curleom, Ziff God couldn't translate those words?

Horses, oxen, goats, sheep, barley are really something else? God couldn't specify the right plant or animal?

The "interpreter" handed down from the begining of the world was really a rock stolen from a guy who found it digging a well?

Some common funeral texts from Egypt becomes the words of Abraham written by his own hand, or not because the language wasn't around in Abraham's time.

There's no scripture denying blacks the priesthood except that pesky "Pharoh was of the lineage denied the priesthood " statement penned maybe by Abraham.

Kolob is a planet and or star.

Caffeine in ok or not or maybe.

Teas can be ok maybe but maybe not.

A prophet gives revelation and doctrine unless he's dead and the new guy reveals counter revelation.

We protect children unless we want to hear some good sex stories.

No one in his position would. Lie, cheat, steal, sleep around etc.

The list goes on

Even as a TBM, it bothered me that church spokespeople seemed indistinguishable from political spin doctors.

If you have the truth and receive revelation from god, you’ll have no need to keep coming up with new explanations and definitions.

Straining at gnats and swallowing camels is the job.

Who would think that the prophet guiding us in these latter days would need a public relations department and attorneys on retainer?

I just posted my reply on Elder Berry's post.

The ONE big question I had in my life and I thought all they had to do is ask God. WRONG. After 35 years (my anniversary was September 1st), they still haven't made much progress in this area.
