Can I declare myself to be non-prophet and get mucho tax breaks ?
I see the IRS decision as enabling private profits and public losses (losses financed by taxpayers).

Dave, I would like to make a donation to your new charity.

To that end, could you please provide your full name, bank account details, and social security number? You can send them in care of my address in Lagos.

Thanks!

I make most of my donations to credulous--oops, I mean highly respected--Americans from Nigeria. The tax breaks are better that way.

Newspapers have been in trouble for a long time as for-profit enterprises, so to the extent non-profit status keeps them going--then have at it.

The abundance of ignorance caused by relying on crazy uncles on facebook for information is getting dangerous.
