Yep, checking World wealth figures it appears L-d$,inc and its RESERVE for Jesus is more money than 97 nations across the world.

This does not take into account anything but the reported $124 Billion in reserve for the big party when Jesus shows up in Independence, Missouri.

A single Church richer than more than half the nations in the world? Jesus must really need a big cake for his party.

Inequality is a terrible thing, and it's very pronounced in certain countries.

I saw on Youtube Yesterday that half the population of South Africa lives on less than $5 a day. And that it's more worthwhile for them to steal from the rich people than to try to get a job and stay straight. It's a country full of violence and fear right now. Middle class whites living scared and destitute Africans. It's not going well.

Something needs to be done?

Among the 54-56 countries in Africa (two of them may or may not qualify as "countries," depending on the definition used), South Africa is far from being among worst off country in the continent.

Part of the problem is that post-apartheid South Africa is still making the adjustment to a non-racial society--which means that, economically, there are a considerable percentage of South African whites (not just black/Coloured South Africans) who live in real poverty. At the same time, there is a growing percentage of black South Africans (plus mixed-race South Africans) who are, economically, doing just fine.

I agree that middle class whites are scared, but this is true of black/Coloured (a specific kind of mixed race) South Africans too--who are equally (or more) scared than are most whites, and mostly regardless of where they live. When you are there, you just go into a different "safety" awareness--but this is true for all South Africans, of all racial and ethnic groups (unless they travel with police protection: the President of South Africa, etc.).

The per capita income of residents of South Africa is over $6,000/year....while South Sudan is $246 a year....and the citizens of Burundi and Malawi earn a little bit more than South Sudan, but marginally so.

South Africa has an abundance of natural resources, an amazing amount of very hard-earned education amongst South African residents of all socio-economic classes (much of it due to the University of South Africa (UNISA), which makes it possible for poor students to get good, First World quality, educations regardless of where they live), and a fierce determination to maintain its reputation as one of, or "the," very best country/countries in Africa.

Namibia, South Africa's former colony to the northwest, is working just as hard on its own behalf, to prove that anything South Africa can do, Namibia can do just as well or better. (And my sense is that Namibia is a MUCH safer, and more inviting in many ways, place to live than is most of South Africa.)

Certainly most of the African continent is as you describe, but amongst all the African nations, South Africa and Namibia are among the best--and they are working unbelievably hard to show the rest of Africa how it can be done. (My sense is that Rwanda is also working just as hard--only in their case, they also--by necessity--are working to overcome the long-term consequences of their genocide of the 1990s. One of their priorities is to become the cleanest nation on the African continent--and it looks like they're actually in the process of achieving this goal.)

First order of business: Jesus theme park much bigger than Six Flags. Includes giant “walk on water” wave pool, a tabernacle for the choir, and several LDS temples. Unfortunately, you will need a temple recommend to get in.
