Wow, what a kitsch, overblown building that is (I admit, I'd never seen it). If that's the St. George temple, then I prefer the one in Lima, Peru, which is reasonably discreet and probably nicer than the buildings around it...
That building, with all its pointless filigree and ornamentation, is rather like the Book of Mormon: a fake that tries too hard.

Sorry, I was called but not chosen. Any comment I make would definitely be deleted anyway.
Who are these TBMs commenting? What goes on (or doesn't) in their heads? A smattering of examples:
"I'm self convinced the earthquake was sent just so : 1.) We know where and how to prep the temples 2.) Urge us to keep preparing for times to come"
"Self convinced," eh? Is that better than just "convinced"?
"Angel Moroni was checking his watch!"
Really? Because I think he would be more like, "Holy crap, what is this thing on my wrist with moving needles? A goddamn LIAHONA?!"
"The Foundation of the Temple shows so much symbolism in how we as individuals need to strengthen our own foundation so we can stand tall and overcome any of life’s storm."
Yeah, I once saw a pigeon crap on a statue. Which reminds me, brothers and sisters...we *also* need to clothe ourselves in copper shells so that bird poop can slowly eat away at us over decades and we can turn a nice shade of green from oxidation. The Church is true!!!
