Had an LA Marketing guru tell me, "We eschew contrivances...

...including clichés, like,
'we eschew contrivances'."

I almost started laughing out loud, but the guy was dead serious.
Had it written on a power point slide show. haha

We had a good laugh about that back at the office,

like, how do you eschew contrivances?
What isn't a contrivance?
Clothes are a contrivance.
Time is a contrivance.
Money is a contrivance.

What if God is just a word for contrivance?

Seriously, for a while I kept a list of "corporate talk" phrases and catchwords for laughs. Most of it was empty jargon they repeated like a bunch of parrots.
