Used to think you were in denial about having no soul dave but I have been around people that actually have no souls recently. Its legit. A portion of society do not have souls quite literally.
Not sure if people abandoned themselves as children or what the explanation is.
Carry on. There are empty bags of meat walking around without a self to speak of. I actually agree with you on this aspect of atheism. The people without souls are really good actors though i will say that much.
My father for example has no soul or abandoned his soul at a young age at the very least but is a phenomenal actor into making you think he does have a soul.
I definitely got fooled by the soulless person's act that is for sure. Phenomenal actors in the holier than thou department.
