What do you think? Is the Church talking out of both sides of its mouth? (Is that a stupid question?) Review and discuss (or, if you prefer, return and report). ;)

“It’s not often A[mericans] U[nited for Separation of Church and State] can say this — but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is on to something.

The LDS church has made a point to remind its senior leaders to remain politically neutral in the upcoming elections.

The Church’s mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, not to elect politicians,” church president Thomas S. Monson and his senior counselors said in a letter sent to top church leaders recently. The letter was also posted as a statement on the church’s website: http://newsroom.lds.org/official-statement/political-neutrality ."

They lie. They lie most of the time. They lie when it would be just as easy to tell the truth. Their lying approaches pathology.

So, do you actually think they're going to stop lying if they actually stand to *gain* something by lying???

"Reserve the right as an institution to address, in a nonpartisan way, issues that it believes have significant community or moral consequences or that directly affect the interests of the Church."

Anyone notice that everything about the LDS church is about the "interests of the church" in every way shape and form? Christs teachings are ignored.

Or in other words "we will vote as a block and have a right to do so if things don't meet OUR standards of morality".
