I've never been a member and I don't get why members of this church swear on their lives that it is 'the only true church on earth'!!!!!!

If they feel the church works out for them and makes them a better person, then that's great. But there are other churches that make people feel the same. And how do they "know" it's true? Nobody knows! And sometimes it's NORMAL to doubt the existence of a superior power, we are humans who are supposed to be critical thinkers. Religion is something you have to believe in with faith and hope, all the evidence is against this religion.

And being better than your religion.

Which is better on paper? Belief or knowledge?

Knowledge.

So if you KNOW, you are better than those who don't.

And once you KNOW and KNOW you are better, then you can start treating people who DON'T KNOW as inferior.

And isn't that the best thing we can have in this world? A strong sense of superiority?

If it were just about superiority it wouldn't be a religion. Culty fanaticism means getting to feel really bad about yourself all the time whilst simultaneously feeling smugly superior to everyone else. It's a delicate balance, but you get used to it.
