GC Drinking Game

Many years ago, a friend lived in a very TBM neighborhood of Orem, Utah. His next door TBM neighbors liked to listen to GC with the volume turned up loud enough for the whole neighborhood (and especially his heathen a**) to hear.

One year the weather was warm enough for an outdoor BBQ on his deck. He invited over a group of ex-mos and never-mos. When the afternoon session began, we began to play the GC drinking game. It took awhile for the TBMs to catch on to what was happening next door, but when they did the volume went waaaaaaay down. Fine with us.

How exactly did they "catch on to what was happening"?

If the story is even true, I would have just asked them to turn it down and done my drinking and BBQing in peace.
