–>–> An Ohio woman caused an impressive amount of carnage after running a red light at over 100 mph and crashing through multiple cars, a utility pole and a house. The reason for the crash is perhaps even wilder as the driver admits to running the light with her kid in the car on purpose to “test her faith with God.”<–<–

I guess god wanted her to spend all her money as restitution and go to jail for a while. What's a little jail time if you aren't working anyway?

I saw that story too. I couldn't figure out what her faith was supposed to do:

Was it to test if God would save their lives in a crash and He did?
Was it to have God stop her from doing something crazy and He failed?
Was it to see if she could do this insane thing and there would be no consequences?

This is not the first time religious faith puts children and others in danger obviously. Faith + Crazy are a bad combination.

What she was testing was the laws of chance. Or are the Laws of Chance really God? Hey Schroedie. I got another one for you!

Why not just handle poisonous snakes? At least then you wouldn't be endangering the public.

This is what happens when snake handling is outlawed.

Yep. Even three thousand years ago, the writers of the OT realized this whole god thing was a con. “Don’t look behind the curtain.”

Plus, they play it both ways. They say not to test God, while they set up all kinds of "faith" situations where they are testing God. Be it snake handling or praying to cure an illness, they are requesting God to respond. Also some might make "deals" with God (e.g. promising to go to church if God cures Billy) which is also a form of testing God.

It's a mental crutch, IMO.

When they have to explain, they pick the scripture to support the side they want.

You should have seen the spectacular chariot wreck in ancient Jerusalem before they added that rule.

I had someone "test their faith" with me on the road the other day. Fortunately I was able to make a miraculous maneuver that save us both from certain carnage. And I was able to do it without wearing any magic underwear or having the Holy Spook in my life. Imagine that!!

I suspect that this woman would have mental issues with or without religious faith.

Sounds just like what Luke did in the original Star Wars movie, where he let go and let "the force" do it.

She was just using "the force," just like Luke Skywalker.

The religious say that this is trusting God and it is Faith in Action an example is this
