A well written and slightly snarky view of the 2019 Hill Cumorah Pagent, JoeSmith, and LDS in general. A bit long, but worth the time.

The final paragraph bugged the crap out of me.

Was that in promised payment, for being allowed access?

Did you read that entire dilation or just skip ahead to the last paragraph? I'm hoping it's the latter.

wow. just wow. That was one of the most insightful observations of the Hill Cumorah Pageant in particular and the history of mormonism's origin in that area in larger context. I was actually blown away by the way the author explained it. Thank you!

I agree with your analysis.

What did you think of that final paragraph?

I'm ignoring the imputation by Gladys Lot regarding my reading disciple:

"May she share a transcontinental Greyhound bus trip with The Cat and MacaRomney."

Only if you join the trip. Three against one is almost fair for you three.

EOD, I didn't quite know what to think of it. The doubt the doubt thing was a strange choice of wording, for sure. Not sure about the rest of it, so who knows what he was trying to tell the readers. The bulk of his article was very unflattering to mormonism.

I thought of "thoughts and prayers" on Facebook.

It was an excellent article. He is very entertaining. It was as if a young Kurt Vonnegut went to visit a cult gathering in a middle-of-nowhere place to reenact a ritual festival that brings the energy of their deities to earth.

I doubt he had much in mind then throwing the Mormons a bone after cleaning their carcasses thoroughly.

One thing in the article that made me chuckle a little bit was this statement: "the whole religion(mormonism) was as recent an invention as the lawnmower". <snort>
