Charlie Watts is dead:

(Maybe now he can do some jazz, which he loved.)

It had to happen sometime, but I am still sad about it. We saw him play with The Stones in 2018 and it was an amazing concert. He was such a classy, elegant guy and sharp player.

Considering how evil rock & roll was presented to us while young and Mormon, I’m touched by Charlie’s marriage to Shirley Ann Shepherd. They came together before the Stones hit the big time, and remained loyal throughout the craziness that is rock & roll superstardom. 57 years married.

Somehow the Stones seemed eternal (I mean, look at Keith). It's hard to accept that they are old and dying off. They have been one of my favorites my entire life. RIP Charlie.

I loved to watch Charlie play. At times Mick was just too much and it was fun to watch Charlie never change his expression.

I'm sad he's gone. Yesterday Don Everly. All morning I had an Everly Brothers ear worm. Now will have to switch to the Stones.

Never seen The Stones live. Had a chance to see them in Abu Dhabi a handful of years ago but missed it. Now I never will.

The opening of “Honky Tonk Woman” was on reverb in my head all day long yesterday. And today.

One of my favorite drummers. I loved Charlie’s fills. Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts were one hell of a bass section.
