I lived in Metairie for a while. I've got a killer Red beans and rice recipe. It takes time (3 hours+) and a lot of attention. I got it from Cindy Brennan. As they say in the South;, It'll make you slap your Mama. I'd share it with you, but not the whole internet.

Hi stillanon,

Yes, please share the beans and rice recipe with me. Maybe this recipe could redeem me with my family.

I'll ask CZ to give you my email address.

Thankee kindly. :)

Sure thing. Do you have a rice cooker? It's not required, but it makes it better.

I really appreciate this, stillanon.

No rice cooker. Will an Instant Pot work ?

Sure. Either way, they both come out better than a stovetop pot of rice and water. Haven't received your email addy from CZ.

Please email him and ask him. It might be the way I said it in my email to him. I said, “If stillanon asks for my email, please give it to him.” :D

A year later I am still learning my IPot :/ Being short I still find it easier to brown stuff on the stove then transfer it in. Sometimes being short sucks.

Susan, fellow shortie!

I was lucky to buy a house from a woman shorter than me (503). Everything here is three-quarter size. I love it ! :)
