What is this all about? And Why do they need a ticket? And what if a baby boomer shows up? (not that I would hehe)

Why be a member of a club if you can't meet up and tell each other how super speshul you all are?

It will be more stuff on how they are chosen generation and its such an unprecedented time of opportunity, and the world's going to hell because of distractions and porn, and be a good little buerocrat, swallow everything your learning in school, without question, fuel the student debt crises. Believe everything the government says and wave those American flags because we're so great!

Hey, I thought *my* generation was the chosen one. I think I can prove it with my patriarchal blessing. Yup, my generation was the chosen one. I will see the "return of the Saviour," it says.

As I understand it, most patriarchal blessings given in the 1800s promised the recipients that they would live to see the second coming. Maybe nobody in that century was righteousness enough to receive that blessing.

In any case, every fresh crop of youth give the leaders a new opportunity to cry wolf.

LDS Dog Whistle;

You're a Good Dog if you obey.

I'll bet (any takers?) That lots of Johnny's & Julie's were told or hinted that they will be rewarded with extra goodies if they attend ( fighting absolute boredom for a couple of hours)

It’s typical to require tickets at venues like this for a number of reasons. For one, if the crowd is well below capacity, they can keep entire sections empty rather than have a thin, dispersed crowd. It also avoids people camping out to get front row seats.

As for why are they doing this, I assume the Youth of Zion may be Faltering. Gotta keep those deck chairs from sliding off the deck.

I’m still pissed that they eliminated nude swims at the Deseret Gym….

Maybe he wants to try and plant what young adults are supposed to think about women's rights. It's not a stretch for young women to realize a male priesthood is part of the problem for women.

My guess is the church is trying to decide how to message current events so that they can pretend to have it both ways while conditioning young people to maintain the status quo.

Predictions:
I suspect they will push family structure, motherhood, discouraging protests, following Christ (whatever that's supposed to justify), and subtle hints to support the church's interests politically. They will be given instruction about what the church decides they should be doing on social media. Maybe they will try to turn women's choice issues into a discussion about sexual promiscuity.

I heard there will be full size cardboard cutouts of Wendy and her husband so that the youth can take selfies with them. Not that Mormons worship the leaders or anything.

If it's true that the cutouts will be there, I bet there will be at least three security guards nearby so that the youth don't do anything kinky in their selfies.

The church could make serious money with a dunk tank. Ten bucks a throw. I would spend half my paycheck trying to sink Nelson.

The west is increasingly moving into a post-Christian era. Rusty and crew cannot fail to have noticed this. If I were a religious leader, I would be doing everything possible to keep the youth on board as well. Of course, the church could also funnel more money to youth activities, but we all know how the higher-ups feel about sending money back to the wards.

Yes. They really are in a catch 22 between supporting the members and being stingy.

The continued diminishing of ward level support makes me wonder if they have already recognized that they're more business than religion, and have already decided to slowly squeeze the religious side until it's gone - even if it takes another century.

Traditional church’s are giving way to mega churches and new age. The old Protestant brands of Christianity are dated. People want something more modern basically.

Want more youth to serve missions.

They make some money off those 2 year payments.

Like vampires, the church gerontocracy keeps living by sucking the life out of the youth.

It ultimately comes down to that, doesn't it. Once the fun is gone, the doctrines abandoned, and the body of the church lies on the floor like a rotting corpse, the only purpose left to the central organization is perpetuating its parasitism.

I think they’re purposely Dumbing Down their members by repeating the same, identical drivel time after time in slightly different sequences & intonation.

I doubt Anything of real substance will be said..
No, announcing more temples isn’t new.

(Is it over yet? Was it accessible to the public?}

I’m taking bets on whether or not the youth will be told “You’re the /a Chosen Generation” or similar… any takers?

Prove me wrong, Mr. Nelson.

We are gathering people for the gathering of Israel.

-or

We are now restoring the great restoration of the gospel.

Today's church is all about redundancy- The Salt Lake temple was built incorrectly, so we're fixing that.

"Each of these locations will have activities, including organ performances..."

So this explains why previous profits got the youth problem wrong... No organ performances.

My goodness they really have been paying attention to the interests of the youth.

I think they are going to let them see (don't touch) church artifacts, like a tattered, worn out bible or journal.

They are also going to let the teenagers use an elevator so they can see a bunch of holes in the ground, piles of dirt and porta-potties in Temple Square.

These activities must come from the brilliant minds who used to develop boring activities for youth conferences- a lecture about using the indices in the BoM, how to cross reference scriptures, a room to build your testimony. And if the kids are really really good and well behaved- we'll let them make a bookmarker with their names and glitter. Woohoo!

The bigger the organ, the greater the man, as they used to say.

I would like to hear a few great organ solos, but Jon Lord died in 2012 and Ray Manzarek in 2013. Maybe Bach is available once again?

If I could smoke a joint and listen to Ray Manzarek play Riders on the Storm on a Rhoad’s electric piano I might want to attend.
