That might partly originated or be set in the patriartichal model of a coercive, intimidating male taking advantage of a fawning, less mature female…
Also, when the virgin status of an individual is gone, at least physically it cannot be returned. That true, we used to think there was a 1:1 link between physical loss of virginity & psychological/ spiritual damage; hopefully we’re past that now with the mentality of true mutual consent.
ChurchCo has long-time dealt often or mostly in hyperbole, this is a prime example.
Just gave me the thought of the old guy wanking it while giving their GC talk. Would be funny to edit the videos where an arm is sort of moving to a rhythm while they continue on with the talk. then edit in a pause and a funny(ier) look on their face before the "amen".
I was told that if they don't change to straight, they are damned. This didn't take into account whether they never had sex or not.
BUT I know another one! When I went to the bishop to ask for some help financially/food, etc., he told me that abusing the Lord's money was second only to murder. My instant thought was "my husband and I are on the same level now!" I knew that was bullshit. I also thought why would the Lord think my kids and I aren't "worthy" of his money? After all, they helped me get in the mess I was in.
The bishop later apologized to me. He knew my husband from being in a bishopric with him and he also was just put in as the bishop.
But don't you dare abuse the Lord's money. I guess maybe all the leaders are headed for hell then, right?

Spot on. The church used to show safety videos about using Church Missionary Vehicles at every month's meeting. While the narrator would mention injuries and fatalities, the church was most concern about: This was needless WASTE of the Lord's precious resources. In other words, the church was most concerned about the loss of a CAR more than fatalities or life long injuries.
Yes indeed. Fastest way to excommunication is misusing the Lord's funds or using them for your purposes.
I knew of a stake president who was excommunicated faster than he could say "Hie to Kolob" for using some of the church funds for a personal loan. Shitty thing to do, but he was out of there super quick and could not be re-baptized until everything was re-payed with interest.
While musing on this tale, it occurred to me that the church is missing out on a ship-tonne of money by not offering pay-day loans!
And they could charge 'faithful' members just 16% interest and the rest of the world 18%... Cuz Jesus's love should be visible to those for whom he cares.
