If humans have one bad habit it’s that they always want someone to lead them. They want someone else to break the trail for them. They want a savior or a prophet or a guru. They want someone to sell them hope.

Of course it’s not just in the spiritual and religious realms this exists and of course most likely a psychopath or sociopath is going to be more than happy to be your leader.

My favorite, and possibly the funniest (yes, it's a personal choice...) clown act was what Russell M. Nelson published on August 16, 2018, regarding the name of the Church:

“The Lord has impressed upon my mind the importance of the name He has revealed for His Church, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  We have work before us to bring ourselves in harmony with His will.  In recent weeks, various Church leaders and departments have initiated the necessary steps to do so.  Additional information about this important matter will be made available in the coming months.”

In this farcical little tantrum of his, he reduced revelation to "impressions"!!!

Two sitting prophets, Hinckley and Monson, told the membership, out loud and in person, that his "impression" was full of crap.

But you know it is...  Once you get to be in charge, your "impressions" become the law.

To me, this is a staggering one-act performance that invalidates whatever power and prestige the church ever had because a prophet has led the church astray.  And if it wasn't Nelson, it means that the prior prophets who gloried in singing "I am a mormon boy" were not in tune with ghawd.

And don't tell me that the lord made sure Nelson lived long enough to become the prophet because then that makes ghawd a real wacko if that's the best plan he could come up with to correct an error that allowed 'It's a win for Satan!" to exist for so long a period of time.

It also means that before 2018, all the Presidents and Apostles serving the church, not named Russell M. Nelson, were so alienated from ghawd that he could not get them to listen to him.

Too bad 'logic' is held in such low esteem compared to 'inspiration.'

Great choice, but my personal favorite was when Nelson led the hosanna hanky shout in conference and Oaks was out of sync. Nelson shot him a death glare in full view of the camera.

I understand why they built the mall. They want to keep the areas around Temple Square nice and you do that by building something that draws in the upper class to shop and live.

It’s a poor PR move to have the prophet open it with such a worldly slogan. They should have had some COB stuffed suit do it.
