Anyone Else Serve a Mission for Deseret Ind?

I served in southern Africa from 97-99. The ruse was we were foreign charity workers for DI. I actually did one charity project when I was there and had to fight to get on that one (only 2 mishys allowed). We never had to really hide the mission work in Zimbabwe, but Zambia was a different story. Missionaries were arrested at gun point at least twice during my two years on mission. Eventually they would be released from prison and transferred. So did anyone else serve under an organization other than the COJCOLDS?

Not really.. Just your normal police state stuff.. In addition to that We had some thefts and robberies, but I carried a big buck knife so I never really had problems.

my mom served a mission where she worked at the bishops storehouse but I don't know if that's the same. it was local
