We get that now and then in our local ward. Some outsiders think money is kept on site.

People might think that the 100 billion dollar church keeps money inside. Little do they know that most ward buildings are old with old furniture. Old pictures of Jesus hanging on those old walls. I can't think of anything I would want out of an LDS building even for free. Now the temple has expensive furniture that I could resell and make money of but the ward buildings? Nope.

Maybe they had some Living Scriptures VHS tapes they wanted to watch.

Didn't a couple of years ago someone stole an angle Moroni?

I bet a bunch of missionary tracts and tithing slips were looted, but the church doesn't want it known.

Maybe they stole a hymn book.
