Was never a fan of his, but I am a fan of famous Mormons admitting the obvious about the bogus faith we all inherited.

Would he have lost his faith if not for the fact that Mormonism has no place for him?

Possibly. People who question don't just question Mormonism IMO.

I see these big happy successful Mormon families where they’re all Mormon generation after generation and nobody strays far from the church, or if they do, you rarely hear about them.
Some of my best friends are that way.
Entertaining doubts, but Never straying.
Generation after generation.
Because it works for them.
Mormonism quit working for me a long time ago, after I didn’t just entertain doubts, they swallowed me whole on 9-11, like a GD black hole.
There was nothing left at that point, except me and my family.
My community and nation that pulled together and helped out.
All alone on the world.
No God to save us.
No Jesus and no Joseph’s Myth
And sure as hell no ‘Prophet’.
I couldn’t look at Gordo the Clown PRetend PRofit anymore as anything other than a feeble minded clown after he completely failed to utter a coherent word on 9-11 or its aftermath.

That was my awakening.

Others it didn’t affect at all.
But to me 9-11 made one thing perfectly clear to me, that loving Father in Heaven, I was raised to believe in was non-existent

Would he have lost faith? Every now and then he says something that shows me he clings to some of the beliefs.

It takes time in a situation like this to put all the craziness together and figure out what direction you are going to take. Here I sit 40 years later living out the direction I chose to follow.

Cool article about Archeletta’s coming out song.
https://www.musictimes.com/articles/101950/20240401/david-archuleta-controversial-coming-out-song-hell-together-saves-someones-life.htm

When he came out he was most concerned about how his Mom would react. Much to his surprise she said I never want my kids to be in a place where they are unloved. If you are going to hell, we’ll all go with you. And she left the church with him.

Everyone should have a Mother with that much courage.

Now he says if he’s going to Hell, it’s worth it if he saves just one life.

I didn’t think Mormons believed in Hell.
