Just got back from a large Christmas Eve service at a large Evangelical church: 6-bank organ, brass, timpani, chorus. Wow. Real gooseflesh time when the processional, O Come, All Ye Faithful, modulates up a third and goes processional with:

"Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing, all ye citizens of Heaven, above!"

Full choir and orchestra at the service I attended with full house singing. Conclusion was the Hallelujah Chorus.

Thanks, LR. Fortunately for me, where I am we escaped the worst of the watery holiday. There's even a little bit of sunshine peeking out today.

Happy New Year to you too!

My wife asked me if Mormons have Christmas day services, told her I didn't think so.

I looked up the LDS websites near us and there's no hint that anything was happening on Christmas day.

Why not?

Many churches do not have Christmas Day Services unless Christmas falls on a Sunday. Many however have Christmas Eve Services.

And hey, since we are all (except the neverMos among us) adopted into the House of Israel, Happy Hanukkah. This year was one of those once in a blue moon events when the first day of Hanukkah falls on Dec 25.

Happy New Year back at ya! And may I wish you a 'Happy New Year' from all of Raymondom too! Good news to report. The Raymond Comets lost the Sugar Bowl. LOL! They lost the provincials for the football too. The town feels like being at the wake of a funeral or something. LOL! Well, I'M glad, at least.
