It occurs to me that we were taught to honor our pioneer forebearers because they were willing to sacrifice to follow truth. They gave up home and family to follow their consciences.

In our own way, we are likewise pioneers. Many of us here have sacrificed a great deal to follow our consciences. Many of us have lost friends, family members, marriages, homes, relationships because we chose to follow what we believed was right. Leaving the church is an act of courage, humility, and moral strength, and that deserves our honor and respect.

So, here's to all you pioneers out there.

Bumping for the morning crowd. I just think you all need to know how amazing you are.

A moment of silence for all those Pioneers who started their journey too late, without enough preparation, came on hard times, and turned back...

I honor my forefathers. I'm from a long line of Ozark dirt-scratchin' hillbillies and Appalachian coal miners (some were booze runners during Prohibition).

I'm a dual pioneer. As a convert I'm a pioneer in my family. As a deconverted one, I'm also a pioneer. lol.

I still attend... for now but I'm definitely mentally out.
