I'm uber bugged right now. I just got a letter from the bishop's wife about how much we are loved and missed and how we need to lean on the lord for our trials and not be bogged down by the things of this world, etc.
Then she goes on to bear her testimony. "I know you know the church is true." She has a testimony of my testimony. The nerve. To claim to know what someone else thinks.
For her information, I have my first real testimony. I know that the church is a crock. The end.

Amen! We have facts; They have "warm fuzzies".

Hey, we know its crap. They hope its not by ignoring all the facts and keeping their noses in the BOM. :D lol

I suggest a return letter with "Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, etc..and that is all.

Keep a sense of humor and don't let what anyone thinks about you get you down.

Or, don't bother to respond in writing. Next time you see her just start laughing and laughing and tell her that her letter was SO Funny and then walk away laughing. Don't bother to engage. She won't get it and any thing you say she will try to make it into , "your" the bad guy.

Ignore and if you can't ignore, laugh. JMHO

Fight condescension with condescension:

Say something like, "That's so funny. I remember saying that same thing back when I believed in the church. It sounds so funny to me now."

Check. Mate.

"I know you know the church is true."

"Well, thanks for letting me know!"

I think I'll just have the devil tatooed on my forehead. Then maybe she'll get the picture. :D

Next time someone says something stupid like this to me, I've decided I'm going to look at them with the most compassionate smile I can muster and say in my sweetest brainwashed Morg Stepford wife voice:

"Oh, that's OK, you can't help it. It's the brainwashing. You've been trained to think like that. Don't feel foolish or worry about it for one more little minute."

Perhaps you should send her your testimony, along with all the supporting evidence for it.
