Is the headgear a dunce cap? Was Joe laughing at everybody when they wore the stuff. Opinions?

I'd rather wear the veil than that hat!

That was enough for me. Once thru with a TBM [what the??], then went back to try and make sense and was still creeped out. Got talked into a sealing session, and THAT was it! This is toooooo freakn weird and scary!

Traditionally, dunce caps are pointed:

but maybe the temple one is a starter model.

I was a cult dunce.

Well, I wore the veil, which signified submission.

I hated, hated, hated the veil! I nearly fainted once in the prayer circle when that stupid veil was over my face because it was so hot! I also felt marginalized with the veil over the face because I was a woman. Talk about feeling second class.

The baker's hats??? Well, they just look stupid and the men always had that hat mark on their foreheads.

Isn't it all just so very silly to think about now?

and she's rambling on about how great mormonism is, I'll interrupt and ask, "hey, do you still need to veil your face in the temple?"

It's like letting air out of a balloon.

I've been to the temple a hundred times and ALWAYS felt silly in that garb. At my nieces endowment (for her mission). She couldn't help but giggle when she saw her dad in his hat!

What do they say is the reasoning for having to veil your face in the temple?
When I was a kid, I went to the temple with my family so that my adopted brother could be sealed to us. My siblings and I had to wait in a children's room and play quietly until they were ready for us. Then we went into a room with an alter in it and all kneeled around it. I remember going through the hallways of the temple and all the adults were walking around in ridiculous green aprons and what I remember as looking like graduation caps. It was very uncomfortable.

My Dear husband had to hold back laughing when he saw his father in the baker's hat for his parents sealing.

I would have loved to have been there just to see his expression.

RIP DH

I will carry you in my heart forever.......however long that is or isn't.
