Why are Christians and Mormons told they are to become like little children?

Children are: Little, dependant, uneducated, inexperienced, at the mercy of an adult, whiney, cute, immature, weak, curious, easily entertained, easily frightened, exploitable, needy, easily confused, clueless, undeveloped, abuse-able, open for punishment, incapable of labor/work, unskilled, questioning, believing, superstitious, easily led astray, fantasizing, sexless, illogical, apolitical, binary world view, undeveloped, a blank slate, loveable, soft-spoken, irrational, unworldly, hungry, messy, unscientific, seen but not heard, spontaneous.

For an adult to become childlike is to embrace dysfunction and irresponsibility; relying on an adult for out look, information, education, and physical needs.

The “adult” determines what’s best for you—how to live, what to eat, what to think, where to live, how to spend your time, how to interact, etc.

If we actually took this advice seriously, the world could not go on functioning; it would be the end of our species. You open yourself up to be abused and taken advantage of by self-appointed adults. You make others do for you what you can already do for yourself. This is the worst fucking advice ever given. Methinks whoever gives this advice is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
