Can't stand to look at that....all the pale colors and the HAIR! No hair on your shoulders for sure. And they stand so proud to have Mr. Pedophyle as their man every once in awhile.
I think because they : 1) Truely believe God wants them to do this. 2) Really are scared of trying to live outside thir group (culture/tribe/whatever). Their access to everthing on the outside is limited and skewed. They usually only hear horror stories of those who left and life outside the cult.

There have been lots of accounts where women who break rules (however ill-defined those rles might be) are assigned to different families as punishment, or as a reward to the person getting that wife added to his household. Sometimes that means getting transferred to Canada or somewhere else far away from your loved ones.
You can be fairly certain that when the Prophet tells you that your daughter will be his wife, it will be done. And that daughter had better keep sweet or be cast off.
There are a few brave ones who get away, but for the most part the rest either believe or do not dare to do anything that might cost them their children, homes or whatever else can be taken away.
I wonder how many of them were either underage when Jeffs raped them, or were witness to him raping a new underage little girl. Some of those women were accessories to the crime if I understand it correctly.

I've seen some kinda overweight FLDS females, though not any that were Warren Jeffs' wives, as far as I knew. I attributed it to continual child bearing.
In Carolyn Jessop's book "Escape" she describes her husband's tyrannical "boss" wife as being around 200 pounds.
And another thing....how long could this go on before genetic backfire rears its ugly head? Or are they so pure in the Lord, like Adam & Eve, that it won't happen? (insert sarcasm icon here)
And this is the reason that young teenage boys are abandoned in the streets of various cities and towns near FLDS compounds with little more than the clothes on their backs. Very Sad!
