"There MUST be a reason."


Give me an "amen" if this was your mantra when you couldn't find an answer for any number of inconsistencies, discrepancies, and outright impossibilities concerning kolobian doctrine & history..

Amen.

I knew the church was true for an absolute and undeniable fact. Thus there must be a reason for all those shelf items.

The only "reason" I could come up with when I truly saw and understood the problems of church history, doctrine, etc.....was.....that it was all made up and therefore I was under no obligation to abide by the rules.

So I quit pretty much right after I saw the Tanner's big blue book and realized they were the ones being truthful, not th church. I was two years into BYU and did finished my degree.

But then I never believed all the way....I rejected it as a child and only tried it as an adult to give it fair shake. As soon as I saw what it really was, it confirmed the way I had felt my entire life about the church, so leaving it was easy and a relief.

Well, it *is* shorter than "There must be a chain of causation of which I am not fully aware that led to this event." :p

And amazingly, people buy it because that's what they want to hear, IMO.

That was the "reason" I was given for countless questions.

Oh man...the amount of mental gymnastics I went through to justify saying something like that was off the charts.
