Removing books

It seems every year the various school boards remove certain books deemed questionable from the curriculum. Virginia's Albermarle County School District removed the Sherlock Holmes mistery A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Cona Doyle from a sixth-grade reading list after parents said it portrays Momons in a negative light.
Isn't that an oxymoron?

There was an earlier post. And my reaction was, wow. Imagine if the Catholic Church demanded that every book with negative content about it be removed. Libraries would be empty.

Banning books is an exercise in futility. We now have the internet. You can't stop independent thought.
