I was watching a special on Hurcules on the Science channel. There are quite a few similarities to the story of Jesus. I would like to get all of you opinions about what you think,

It has many of the classic trappings of ancient myths about other gods. But of course that is because Satan is such a great imposter. lol

thanks so much for this =) where can i read more about "sun" and "mushroom"?

would be cooler if that table linked to the actual texts confirming those relationships/attributes, e.g. Mithra being a text link to an online text showing that "Birth was accompanied by wise men and/or *angles*" (giggle)

While not a direct link to the actual texts, references are given on the archetypes link on that page.

here:
http://www.paganizingfaithofyeshua.netfirms.com/archetypes.htm

and the "Continue studying" link at the end of that document goes deeper into others. There's a lot of info as you dig into it.

Is one of the most widely told "stories" that humans have. You can find it everywhere from African myths, to Greek, to Star Wars, Spider-Man, and Superman.

Read Joseph Campbell and you'll see how often Jesus's story has been told and re-told throughout the ages.

The spread of Christianity to the Roman Empire led to the virgin birth, half-god myth. The earliest form of christianity was a sect of Judaism in Jerusalem and the outlying areas. They believed Christ was an all-human prophet.

No virgin birth, Hercules was known for his strength and also his stupidity, no moral teachings and Hercules espoused violence. He killed his teacher, his wife and kids for starters. Yes, there are similarities, but also plenty of differences.
