Anyone else try to use 9/11 as a missionary tool?

On the back of atheist&happy's thread re: 9/11, did anyone else in the aftermath try and convert friends/family etc on the basis that some people might want to turn to religion for a crutch?
As a TBM missionary at the time we definitely played on the supposed fact that many people were generally wanting to return to (any) church in fear of the last days! The MP even announced it was a bessing from god to help along the work in the extremely catholic province of Quebec! Unbelievable I know! We used it, but unsurprisingly the work didn't improve at all!
