Someone asked if we could vote on whether or not to criminalize alcohol consumption, which way would the Babycenter ladies vote. To my surprise, so far, most of the ladies seem to be for allowing alcohol.

They tried outlawing alcohol once and it didn't work....just made a handful of people a lot of money. Why would anyone consider doing it again if it didn't work that last time.

Just because a few fundies don't like something doesn't mean its best to remove it from society by making it against the law.

If there is no demon rum to rail against, then the "sacrifice" and "obedience" in not drinking rum, disappears. Doesn't every hero need an anti-hero, by definition?

It's the same reason so many people 'need' for there to be anti-Mormons (and if none can be found, to make up a few).

Wow... the Babycenter thread exploded since I last looked at it.

One lady even admitted to wishing the WoW allowed booze.
