Ok, how about this. There's a certain death-metal music video on Youtube that, I think, most accurately depicts what the masons and mormons were thinking of when they talked about having your "bowels gushed out". Is that acceptable?

Linking to some nasty ass video was kind of dumb I think. I like to explore and recover on this site, but I think you need to try to keep it real. I mean, the Mormon and Mason ceremonies were frontier era theatrics and a boy's club skull and bones ritual. That music video is sadistic and anti social. The two are not related.
I don’t know you. You might be a marine, and I get that perhaps you'd like full metal jacket and all, but viewing a lot of violence is pretty useless.
I decided not to watch the video. I'm not into a lot of gore.
However I totally get your point about how bizarre it was for a symbol in the temple to be about such a horrible thing. You have to wonder why they ever thought a god would need such a creepy threat to enforce having secrets.
They were smart to remove the death mimicking symbols. It was not helping them.
