Any suggestions on what to do with my Cuisinart burr grinder? The motor works, but it has a hard time pulling beans through the grinder. I have to pound on the lid to get some to fall in and start grinding. I have had to brush out the grounds a few times, but that was a very temporary fix. Do I need a higher end grinder? I saw some pellets that are supposes to help clean burr grinders. Anyone tried them?

I wish I could be at your house for breakfast, to watch you pounding that lid! Lol! If you throw in a few swear words, I'll bring you a Starbucks. I love "visuals" like yours. Brushing out the grounds leaves a huge mess all over. I hope you are not grumpy in the morning. It might be worth buying a new machine.

I've heard that running instant rice through a burr grinder helps to clean it out. The only thing is that afterward, you're going to have to waste about as much coffee cleaning the thing out.

If you end up buying another grinder, I use the Kitchenaid model KPCG100OB. It's a bit spendy, but will probably be the last one you ever buy if you treat it right.

Guess I'll have to get a new one.

There was a lot of ground coffee build up at the bottom of the hoper chute that was preventing beans from grinding. I cleaned that out and now it is grinding again.

It started yesterday, I can make a pot using the grinder option( beans) but when I go to make a pot using grounds, the water will not come through.....getting expensive on the bean end.. Haha
Can someone please give me a suggestion? The machine is only 3 moths old

I used to have a Krups that got severely caked up with dried coffee powder from time to time. I used a wooden chop stick to dig it out.

If it doesn't work after you clean it out, just spring for a new one. I've had really good results from Krups grinders, just for the record. : ) Have a cuisinart right now, not thrilled, going back to a Krups soon.

And, btw, Hervey Willets - Nescafe is sacrilege to serious coffee drinkers! Euww - how disgusting!
