I'll have to see if my little clue leads anywhere

A niece complained on Facebook that it's Mor-own-eye, not Mor-own ee. I replied that it depends on whether you're talking about the city of Moroni on the island of Comoros.

I hope she gets curious, checks that out and starts thinking. She's a smart woman.

I always read it as moron-ee, but then I heard everyone pronounce it "eye." I thought it was deser-ay, not deser-et.

It definitely is a last name, I can't do any family searches without dealing with fifteen pages of the "angel". Also, my family, and I believe most if not all, pronounces it as More-Oh-Knee.

I grew up in a joyless, loveless, Pharisaical church. I don't know that much about the LDS, except that my neighbor is one, but I do know that it is tough getting out of something like that. I hope the best for all of you.
