This article is almost a month old but I just stumbled across it:

http://articles.latimes.com/2011/sep/26/news/la-heb-caffeine-women-depression-20110926

The article says women who drink coffee are less likely to be depressed! Yay!

Interesting, because it says that women who drink large amounts of coffee "are more likely to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes and less likely to volunteer their time in church or community groups" and yet these same women "were less likely to be obese or have high blood pressure or cholesterol levels".

Maybe it's not the coffee staving off depression. Maybe it's just not going to church? :)

Someone found a reason women feel better not keeping the word of wisdom

It is partly not going to church, for sure. But it is also probable that those same women who enjoy coffee and alcohol are more sociable, have more real friends, and are less depressed in general.

Depression and social isolation does more harm to our bodies than any moderate amount of tea, coffee or alcohol could!
