What is the Book of Mormon?

http://mormon.org/book-of-mormon/

"the Book of Mormon contains the history and God’s dealings with the people who lived in the Americas between approximately 600 BC and 400 AD."

From the Book of Mormon preface: "Wherefore, it is an abridgment of the record of the people of Nephi, and also of the Lamanites—Written to the Lamanites"

Mormons claim that they have the true culture and history of ancient Americans. They claim that God has commanded them to give this culture and history to the living American Indians.

D&C 28:8 "And now, behold, I say unto you that you shall go unto the Lamanites and preach my gospel unto them"

The Book of Mormon claims to be an Indian produced product (translated from the gold plates). The Book of Mormon is not supported by archaeology, anthropology, DNA, etc.

There are criminal penalties for selling goods with misrepresentations that they were Indian produced.

"It is unlawful to offer or display for sale or sell any good, with or without a Government trademark, in a manner that falsely suggests it is Indian produced, an Indian product, or the product of a particular Indian or Indian tribe or Indian arts and crafts organization, resident within the United States."

"A"truth-in-advertising" law that prohibits misrepresentation in the marketing of Indian arts and crafts products within the United States. It is illegal to offer or display for sale, or to sell any art or craft product in a manner that falsely suggests it is Indian-produced, an Indian product, or the product of a particular Indian, Indian Tribe, or Indian arts and crafts organization, resident within the United States."

"Native American cultural heritage is a precious, non-renewable resource for historical, spiritual, and creative experiences and knowledge."

Mormonism seeks to usurp indigenous American cultural and replace it with a 19th century fraudulent history. It is being "sold" for the price of 10% of the buyer's income.

Yep, the Mormons are selling counterfeit indian goods.

It would be cool if they could be taken to task for this. My guess is that the law applies to arts and crafts, though.

It's just some thought provoking satire.
