OK, gang, time to play TRIVIA! Is everybody ready? Good!

(1) Name a major religious sect that has, as part of its canonized scripture a picture of God's erect penis.

(2) Name a major religious sect that has, as part of it's official hymnal, a hymn singing praise to a sexual predator.

(3) Name a major Christian religious sect that considers praying to Jesus to be heretical.

(4) Name a major religious sect that forbids its full-time, volunteer missionaries from phoning their family except during limited times per year.

Did you get them all correct? You did? Good for you!

Do you have any other trivia questions?

Oh, one more:

(5) Name a major religious sect whose top leaders have all, since its beginning, participated in rituals mimicking the taking of human life.

Ok, I'm a nevermo... but really!? A link to pic would help. Purely for research purposes, of course. ;-)

Book of Abraham. BTW, many ancient religions were involved in phallus worship. The romans wore them as good luck charms and used them as wind chimes. Google Priapus.

And to think of the thousands of hours in boring meetings I spent as a child, scrutinizing that picture.

Doesn't the phallos appear and disappear from time to time, in different editions?

One has to wonder what's going on.

Yes it does. It was pointed out back in the early 1900s when copies were sent to Egyptologists asking for their opinion of JS's interpretation. They basically said, "he's full of it" and even pointed out how facsimile 1 was incorrectly restored.

The Mormons cried "foul" saying, "how can he tell us the interpretation is wrong when they want to change the picture itself?"

When the papyri were rediscovered in 1966, lo and behold the parts that Egyptologists said were wrong were from the missing part of the papyri that had been "restored" by JS.

There was a lot of discussion including the penis on fig 7. Soon editions came out without the penis. It was restored when they went back to the original Reuben Hedlock woodcuts (that were supervised by JS himself) in 1981.

JS to Sidney Rigdon: Hey Sid! Look at THIS!
SR: (blushing) Wow - I wonder if anyone knows what this means.
JS: (grinning) Who cares? It's part of the papyrus, isn't it? We've got to look authentic.
SR: Yes, but why would it be in here?
JS: Dunno. But let's put it in the Book of Abraham.
SR: No! It's much too graphic.
JS: Aw, come on. No one will notice it anyway.
SR: (giggling) Well, it's kind of a fun idea. And the whole book's a joke anyway.
JS: (laughing) Yeah, I know. What a ruse! Maybe people will find it years later. I wonder what they'll think if we do it.
SR: Let's do it!

1) Name a major religious sect that believes God lives on the planet Kolob?

2) Name a major religious sect that believes the dawn of civilization started in Jackson County, Missouri?

3) Name a major religious sect that believes you can not go to heaven if you drink coffee?

Name a "Christian" sect that has baptized into Mormondom, without their consent: Jews, Catholics, atheists, ex-Mormons, and Jesus Christ himself (on April 8, 2010); and which gave Jesus Christ his endowment and sealed him in the sect's temple to his wife Mary Magdalene on April 9, 2010.*

Watching that link now. How is she accessing these records? It looks like they're coming up in a regular genealogy searches...? This is beyond bizarre.

Helen became very proficient at finding names of well-known Nevermos whom TSCC had dead-dunked, and she regularly “outed” the church by passing her information about a famous dunked person, on to a reporter willing to write about it. Helen also always made copies of the relevant records she found, having noticed that sometimes after a newspaper printed the name of a Nevermo the Morg had baptized, that e-record would suddenly no longer be available to the public.

According to the Bible, Christ was baptized by John the Baptist. To any Christian church, the notion that Christ would need to be baptized posthumously by Mormons would be shocking, horrifying and indefensible.

Another tidbit from Helen: It seems that Mormons who had been excommunicated because they had been practicing polygamy illegally when alive, now (i.e. after their death) have been sealed to ALL of their illegal polygamist wives!

Lying, HYPOCRITE Mormon leaders!!!

There are so many levels of irrationality in this practice.

Did you catch the caller "Annie" who muttered something like "just because we're taught that doesn't make it true."

Can you imagine how the poor youth who stood in as proxy for Hitler must have felt?

What Christian sect has a founding prophet that tried to sell the publishing rights to a new scripture he got from god?

What Christian sect has a secret ritual where the new convert gets to be naked with strangers and let them put oil on their body over their chest and thighs (scandalous) while wispering/mumbling prayers over them.

What Christian sect has a founder that married other men's wives and 14 yr old daughters? (promising salvation of course)

What Christian sect has ownership of a 3 billion dollar Mall? In a recession where the members are losing homes and jobs?

Correct answer to all questions is: None.

All questions are taken from the Mormon church, but the Mormon church is not a major religious sect. Outside of a minor part of the United States of America it is a tiny, insignificant sect.

Name a religion whose members give/have more testimonies about their founder than they do about deity in their church name.
