In the temple ceremony and sealing ordinance, why is this included when making a promise?

God won't be able to remember so he has angelic stenographers?

More return and reporting to the corporate CEO?

Well, in order to believe that the first vision accounts don't contradict each other you have to believe that god is an angel, so....

Basically it just to convince the people that they are in a holy place where angels are likely to be hanging out witnessing the wonderful work going on.

But yes, the mormon version of God does need stenographers. Remember the movie where he has to keep asking Jehovah questions? Is there man upon the earth? Is it good for him to be alone? Can you please go find out what Adam and Eve are up to?
