THEORY: The Cult needs sites like this to give credibility to their "Anti-Mormon" scare tactics.

Ultimately they want dissenters OUT of the cult so they don't infect the chattel. If this board didn't exist, they'd have to invent it. That's why they allow those apologetic sites. They know that the smart people will go there, see how ridiculous their arguments are, and leave.

So you think they LIKE this site?

Even if they DID find it useful for clearing out apostates and freethinkers, that wouldn't bother me.

But I don't think they like it much.


It helped me and my husband transition out. It helped me find the information I needed to do my research and make a solid and informed decision. The people here offered emotional support and community (both on and off the board). And how many people stumble onto it by accident and leave the church?

Truth is, the church doesn't have a say in whether it exists or not. It's here, like it or not.
