If you still attend, has there been a push for all to create a profile on TSCC website? I wonder what the hidden agenda is for this one. For the last few months our bishopbric has been making that announcement in SM.

I have not had this done in my ward at all, nor in my stake.

Hey, the people on here who are still on the rolls and haven't officially resigned, could sign up, and include in their profiles a few of their new extracurricular activities:

- Hitting Starbucks every morning for a grande Americano
- Hitting the local pub for a craft beer
- Using 10% of income towards child's tuition fund
etc.etc.

This has been going on in our stake also. Just had a stake conference and the adult session was major create profiles. Also the mishys are setting appointments with the members to come by and one thing on their agenda is to see if you have your profile up and/or if you need help. To much focus on marketing. I thought the mormons were a "peculiar people" but now they want to be like everyone else.

I think it's hilarious! Let's help them along and create some, too!

What is the point of this?? Since only mormons usually frequent mormon.org.

I think it would be different if they were having mormons setup Facebook and Twitter accounts as this is how the Great Unwashed likes to communicate with each other.....

I find this so strange. In the 90's the church pushed people to create their own family websites and lot of techie mo's rushed to slap up a site and gush about their forever family, much like the standard mo family Christmas letter.

Then the church got very concerned because people started explaining their version of the gospel and it made the church look like it was populated by wierdos. So then they asked everyone to take down their family websites.

And now, here we go again. I guess they're at least controlling the content somewhat with this version, but still, it looks like the church is populated with strange people.

Edited to add that this is exactly how I found Exmormon.org. I used to hunt for mormon family websites just for the comedy gold and stumbled in here!

because they can't get answers to their questions.

Doctrine, smockrin. They don't need answers, they just need to obey and pay.

since they Don't, all the emphasis is 'around the edges'.

Leaders 'feel the need' to keep up the flow of B.S., it's the ONLY constant in Morland.

... scarily I searched my own name and some mormon woman and I have the same name and she has a profile! Yikes!!! lol... ;-)

I have theory that I have not read anywhere yet.

I think that if you get people to get in the habit of self Identify as something it can increase retention of members.

I think we are seeing a strategic shift from a "I believe..." to a "I am" paradigm.

I predict that testimony meetings will be shifted to "I am a Mormon" type statements.

You cannot dispute statements such as these.
