I never suspected tithing as the main doctrine...I was taught...

that all the authories were rich in their careers and they did not need money...that was planted very early as a child and I never suspected that they are not rich and the love free money and perks and their jobs. Boy was I gullable.

I never knew until recently that when JS made up the tithing revelation, that IT DIDN'T APPLY TO HIMSELF! That's right, the early "Brethren" were exempt from paying tithing.
