A Funny Memory

I live in the Mormon Corridor, and am having a funny flashback.

About a year or so before I decided to quit Mormonism, I was sitting in a pew with my two beautiful children and whoever was sitting behind me was providing a running commentary (under his breath) of what was going on at the pulpit.

Had I been an ultra TBM tryiing my hardest to "feel the Spirit" I might hav ebeen offended... but it was actually quite funny.

The poor guy was probably just trying to keep from falling asleep!

Those meetings really are boring ... they might as well just remove the pews and install cots--for all anyone is getting out of their Sunday services. : )

The piews (misspelling intended) make great cots for sick children. Just spread out a blanket, and let the kid lie there and moan.

My daughter is a cartoonist, and to pass the time, she and I would draw caricatures of people on the stand and in the congregation, and we would guess who they were. Sort of like a running commentary in pictures.

i used to do that! i would take my sketch book to SM and put the words they were saying in bubbles. My DH used to get mad at me. Now he thinks they're funny
