I was thinking the other day. Some Mid-eastern and Eastern countries with tons of oil use that money to ease the burden of their citizens.

OK, a big part of it also goes to elites in their palaces, but in countries such as Brunei, a lot of the money is used to benefit the population as a whole. (Healthcare, housing etc.)

There are countries, such as Qatar, Brunei, the United Arab Emirates, where there is no income tax at all, since the country makes so much money with oil.

The other extreme is the Morg. LDS companies have such fabulous profits that they can afford to use this surplus to build multi-billion-dollar malls... Why don't they use these fortunes to ease the burden of their members??

Instead of using these never-ending profits to ease the burden of members, they choose to splurge in malls and condos, and they still have the nerve to keep asking for more and more:

* tithing
* fast offerings
* Book of Mormon funds
* missionary funds
* humanitarian funds
* temple funds
* even the newly-invented funds to help people get to the temple

(Not to mention missionary slave labor, member slave labor in callings etc etc etc.)

Disgusting.

It's easy to see where their priorities are.

Besides, sacrificing for the Church is a blessing!

Filling the coffers of LD$ Inc. is a privilege, even if it means taking money away from your family amidst a global crisis.

The Lard will certainly bless you back. Amen, Lard.

I agree. If they spent the $2 billion and divided it among the 14 million members each member would get $142. That's a lot better than creating jobs in Salt Lake City.

unless you're one of the people GETTING one of those jobs:

electricians
plumbers
painters
architects
building inspectors
delivery people
site prep
laborers
carpenters
steel workers
operating engineers
glaziers
roofers

or the people who manufacture & sell the materials.

Yes, a few of them are in SLC, but many of them aren't.

Everyone would then pay $14.20 in tithing, giving them the much needed revenue they have been trying to guilt everyone into giving them:)

If they are so stupid to believe we are God's representative because we are white (GA's), they deserve to be exploited.

It makes it much easier for them to attend higher educational facilities where they learn that wearing overalls is pornographic and that certain facts/thinking/skills are not appropriate to apply to all the mandatory classes.
