Why is it that the morg has to use the Lord's name as a control mechanism to get people like me to do what they want done?

I recently had an LTM [long time mo] who might as well be TBM actually dare to use the Lord's name and basically question my decision to turn down a function that I was supposed to take part in. "Oh so you're gonna say no to the Lord for this function?" was what was said. Excuse me? Who died and made you God? Maybe I have a reason for turning it down. Maybe I have a reason for turning down a calling. What if I know that there is absolutely NO teamwork and that they very likely set me up in situations where I become the fall guy or lightning rod for whatever asinine thing that pops up? I know now that callings are just busywork designed to trap people into subservience and ensnare them further into their deceit, lies, and control.

I am pointing stuff like this out to my DW and even she sees that something's wrong with the picture here. She is starting to see why I stopped going, so that's a good thing. I am also wanting to move to Colorado, where the people are saner. :)

Unless you are in the top 15 circle, you can't win in the Mormon church.

Boggles the mind why Americans would fight for freedom around the world, yet voluntarily subject themselves to a system like Mormonism.
