Power of One

My SonI.L. gave me a copy of The Power of One, Bryce Courtenay.
He said; I reminded him of "Doc." in the book. I really liked the book. I could Idenify with Doc. with his love of music and
science and his philosophical views...a lot like Thomas Paine,
What struck close to home was the relationship that PK had with
his mother..sheesh..it was spot on, with what I had with my own
mom!
Did some of you experince a simular up bringing?
